Thanksgiving is around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than by crafting a creative ‘I’m Not a Turkey’ project? Let your imagination run wild as we transform turkeys into everything but themselves with these unique ideas!
1. Circus Clown Turkey
Bright pom poms and a colorful, spotty outfit make your turkey a cheerful clown. I attached a big red nose made from a pom pom.
2. Superhero Turkey
Why not give your turkey a cape and mask? I once turned mine into a superhero, complete with a colorful cape made of leftover fabric scraps.
3. Astronaut Turkey
With some foil and a tiny helmet, your turkey can become a space explorer. I used an old cereal box to craft a little spaceship for mine.
4. Sports Star Turkey
Dress your turkey in the colors of your favorite team with colored paper jerseys. I crafted a mini basketball hoop to go along with mine.
5. Undercover Spy Turkey
With a small trench coat and a magnifying glass, your turkey can be a secret agent. I used black construction paper for the hat and shades.
6. Firefighter Turkey
Create a firefighter turkey with a red helmet and a paper hose. I used tiny bits of cardboard for a ladder accessory.
7. Chef Turkey
Turn your turkey into a culinary master with a fabric apron and chef’s hat. It was so much fun crafting tiny cooking utensils out of paper.
8. Beach Vacation Turkey
Create a tropical escape with a scene background of the beach and seashell accessories. My beach turkey even had a mini sunhat and sunglasses!
9. Robot Turkey
Cover your turkey with foil and add buttons for a robotic look. My robot turkey had a small antenna made from a pipe cleaner.
10. Pirate Turkey
A piece of black fabric makes a perfect pirate hat, and a small eye patch completes the look. I added a paper parrot to my turkey’s shoulder for extra flair.
11. Seasonal Turkey
Dress your turkey in the spirit of the season with holiday-themed decorations. I once made a winter-themed turkey using white pom poms and silver tinsel.
12. Gardener Turkey
Transform your turkey into a gardener with a seed packet hat and fabric gloves. My turkey had a tiny watering can made from a plastic bottle cap.
13. Fairytale Turkey
Transform your turkey into a fairytale character using colored paper and some glitter. I loved making a Cinderella turkey complete with a paper gown and tiny, shiny slippers.
14. Pop Culture Icon
Use cotton balls and markers to give your turkey a pop culture makeover. My favorite was a ‘rock star’ turkey, sporting a wild cotton ball wig!
15. Ballerina Turkey
Craft a tutu from tulle fabric and a ballet slipper from felt for a graceful ballerina turkey. I added a tiny tiara for elegance.
